The clients approached us for the second time. We had previously worked on the design of the apartment they currently reside in, so we already had established mutual understanding. This time, it was a 240-square-meter townhouse located in a suburban village near Moscow. The main task was to create a comfortable living space where everyone would have their place. The children had grown up, and now each of them needed their own room.
To achieve this, we proposed expanding the house by constructing a warm patio. Fortunately, the homeowner's association allows for such modifications on their own property.
The clients enjoy spending evenings together watching movies. The decorative stone with backlighting in the TV area, a large comfortable sofa, a bio-fireplace integrated into the portal between the living room and the patio area, and the absence of any visible storage surfaces make the interior very refined and clean.
The patio windows were insulated and made sliding so that they can be fully opened in spring and summer, allowing for a seamless connection with nature. In essence, we now have a separate dining area where guests can gather.
The kitchen turned out to be very spacious and functional. Since it is visible and integrated with the living room, we proposed to the clients to hide the working area with the sink in columns. This created ample storage areas and an island as a workspace and a place for quick breakfasts.
We opted for a very neutral color palette, while incorporating various textures to add dimension.
On the ground floor, we also designed a guest bedroom with its own bathroom, a spacious walk-in closet for outerwear, and a guest restroom.
The second floor is entirely dedicated to living spaces. We have arranged two children's rooms there, each with its own walk-in closet, but sharing a common bathroom that accommodates both a shower and a bathtub.
The master zone is located on the opposite side of the floor. Through the office, we enter the bedroom. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a walk-in closet, which is very convenient. This allows for getting ready in the morning without disturbing sleeping family members.
The office, designed for work, is realized in a classical manner, with wooden bookshelves, a writing desk, and comfortable chairs.
